Bassingbourn Barracks was the location for a very large hangar dance in May 2010 and Cambridge Sound provided the complete PA system & engineers for the event.

The Memphis Belle Swing Orchestra entertained everyone, very fitting given that the famous bomber from the second world war was stationed in Bassingbourn.

It takes a few kilowatts of pa and a good engineer to create the right sound in a venue so big and an aircraft hangar creates quite a few challenges for any sound guy!

A combination of LD Systems, AKG, Yamaha and Allen & Heath ensured that all the musicians sounded great.

Turkish delight from easyJet & Cambridge Sound
Cambridge Sound helps EasyJet celebrate new routes to Turkey
A little Turkish delight was necessary to celebrate the launch of new EasyJet routes to Turkey from London Stansted airport. A team of belly dancers encouraged Cambridge shoppers to join them on the day and Darryl Flinders from Cambridge Sound hosted the event and encouraged participation.

The challenge - When a very well know shopping centre in Cambridgeshire (Grand Arcade) wanted to stage a high profile dance competition (Dance factor) they approached Cambridge Sound for help.

Our solution - We provided lighting, sound, multiple radio mics, star curtain, music and compared the event for them, working alongside all of the performers and the local radio station to ensure that maximum impact was achieved. The footfall on the day was high and the event was very well supported, leading to more projects with the same centre.

The challenge- A very large pharmaceutical company with their headquarters in Cambridge (Napp) approached us with an interesting challenge. They wanted to make an important company announcement for all their employees to hear (around 700 of them) and ideally outside, but they also needed a fallback position, just in case the weather turned!

Our solution - Cambridge Sound put together outdoor and multi-floor PA systems and both were available for the event. On the day (which was very sunny) we used radio mics, multiple speakers over a large area and intelligent feedback control to ensure that every word that was spoken was loud and clear and also provided some background music, during which their staff tucked into a buffet.

The challenge - It's not everyday that a worldclass equine hospital (Newmarket equine Hospital) is opened and to ensure that everyone on the day (the press, radio, TV and many specially invited guests) heard the opening speeches clearly, we were asked to provide a PA sytem and engineer to control it.

Our solution - We provided NEH with a compact 500 watt PA system, AKG mics, Mackie desk and an engineer to ensure that their official opening speeches, made by HRH Princess Haya of Jordanand senior partner David Elliss, were heard by all attendees.
